I am located in Eugene, but can work virtually.  I am always looking to connect and network with others interested in my services.  I am especially interested in working with  professionals in the health and wellness fields as well as those who work with children in schools, daycare, and sports and hobbies.  I am willing to travel if services are requested.

When a child struggles with his or her learning, behavior, performance,weight,or overall health,the impact is felt heavily by the parents or caregivers. Many times, these adults seek help from tutors, coaches, counselors, or medications. However, in many cases, the solution is easily found through changes in lifestyle, exercise, attitude, and nutrition.

Research confirms that to effectively impact the health of a child, change needs to begin at home. Based on this fact, Dr. Sears developed the L.E.A.N. approach to wellness which focuses on educating the adults and empowering them to make educated choices, which can dramatically improve the health of the entire family.

I have seen how remarkable of a change it has made on my children and our family, and am devoting my life to helping kids prevent and reduce the symptoms of ADHD and other behavioral and social disorders, as well as learning disabilities, allergies, asthma, obesity, diabetes, depression and so much more. Here are some recent statistics relating to the health of our children.....

  • 1 in 3 children  is overweight or obese;

  • 1 in 4 teens show 2+ risk factors of heart disease;

  • Each year, an average of 370,000 children between ages 10 and 18 get Type 2 Diabetes;

  • 1 in 8 has asthma or serious respiratory issues;

  • An average of 13 million children experience respiratory allergies each year;

  • 1 in 10 has been diagnosed with ADHD; 1 in 5 with ADD;

  • 1 in 10 between ages 12-17 have signs  of depression or have a mood disorder

  • Anxiety disorder affects 8% of children ages 13-18;

  • 1 in 50 children has autism;

  • The eating disorder, anorexia nervosa, is on the rise in children as young as kindergarten

  • 1 in 5 children experience debilitating mental disorders

  • 72% of all children have some kind of emotional problem

  • Everyday, 43 children are diagnosed with cancer. Average age as young as 6.

I can tell you from personal experience, that when it comes to helping your children be healthier, there is truth to the statement "Monkey see! Monkey do!" If you are not willing to make changes with them, they will rebel, always!  It can take weeks or even months for your child to accept these changes, but you will be more successful when you do it together.  You will be surprised how much of a difference it makes in our child's lives when they understand how important healthy living is for them and those around them.  In my experience, not only with my own kids, but with others.  I have seen a dramatic increase in caring for nature and our environment, as well as educating others on these dangers as well.
